Target Manager, Responsible Sourcing Business Insights and Integration - Stakeholder Management in Minneapolis, Minnesota

The pay range is $69,000.00 - $124,200.00

In Sourcing, you’ll apply your Fabric, Trim and Packaging and accessories and/or home goods expertise to promote and apply responsible sourcing practices while driving the success and growth of Target’s owned brands. The Sourcing team starts at the very earliest stages of product development, builds out the costing models and tracks where product stands at every step in the production cycle, from overseas shipping to our import warehouses, distribution centers and stores. And since Target is indeed a global company, you’ll be part of the team that manages global relationships in partnership with the buying team who shop for trends all over the world. Your ability to stay aware of our suppliers’ activities will help ensure compliance with responsible practices, and you’ll have influence over which manufacturers Target chooses to work with. You’ll be a close point-of-contact with Target team members in sourcing offices located in 20 countries around the globe, and you’ll support their work as liaisons among buyers, product developers and overseas partners.

Manager Stakeholder Management

As a Manager of Stakeholder Management you will be part of the team that leads our proactive stakeholder engagement program, public disclosure and reporting, and risk mitigation efforts.

You will be responsible for management of our stakeholder engagement program routines and coordination of external disclosure requirements for Responsible Sourcing topics. As part of a global team, you will build relationships both internally and externally to set the bar for responsible and ethical business practices, enable sustainable business growth and accelerate positive impact for people across the globe.

  • Research and support external stakeholder expectations to guide decision making for external engagement and disclosure.

  • Manage and support continued operationalization of our stakeholder engagement program, routines and performance measurement reporting.

  • Support efforts to offer routine learning opportunities including peer-learning, upskilling in stakeholder engagement best practice, and assessment of partnership performance.

  • Provide proactive insights and leverage data, analytics and reporting to provide guidance and support business decision making.

  • Support ongoing awareness of macro environment trends, industry trends, governmental regulations, and the changing global landscape.

  • Drive results by building coalitions and consensus, establishing rapport, and fostering collaboration internally.

About you:

  • 5+ years of experience

  • Strong strategic and conceptual thinking with the ability to plan, organize and execute.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to translate complex concepts into simple, clear language with concrete examples.

  • Experience coordinating and collaborating with individuals and teams at all levels of the company, including peer teams, senior leaders and executives and with outside partners/stakeholders.

  • Ability to execute with high degree of ambiguity and remain calm in high-pressure situations.

  • Knowledge and understanding of sustainability reporting frameworks, standards, and best practices.

  • Ability to work independently to learn new skills, anticipate needs, comfortably navigate unfamiliar or dynamic environments and quickly adapt.

  • Team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic and flexible.

  • Ability to work in a global environment.

  • Respects, appreciates and is curious about differences related to working with others; committed to fostering an inclusive team.

Desired Requirements :

  • 4 year degree

  • Experience developing new approaches in areas where there may be no roadmap, precedent, or previous foundation.

  • Sustainability, responsible sourcing and/or public affairs / advocacy experience a plus.

  • Experience working with global teams/business partners.

  • Developed external network in sustainability, responsible sourcing or public affairs.

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
