The pay range is $89,700.00 - $161,500.00

Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and in some instances may include education, work experience and certifications. RBX Design Innovation Leader

A Retail Brand Experience Design Innovation Lead is an opportunity to continuously elevate the Target store experience through design, materials, print, and digital innovation. The objective of this work is to transform creative concepts into tangible experiences that evoke a sense of belonging, inspiration, and wonder for our guests. You will apply your deep understanding of retail environments and innovative thinking to inspire internal teams and partner groups to see the possibilities for our brand and the guest.

Core Functions Responsibilities

  • Design, prototype, iterate new elements

  • Work with cross functional teams and external resources to bring creative concepts to life.

  • Understand and balance guest needs, Target’s brand, business priorities and operational realities to maximize the store presentation.

  • Design, prototype, and iterate all new, custom, and unique elements and structures.

  • Provide guidance and recommendations based on project briefed requirements.

  • Guide and advise planners, prior to briefing, and creative partners, prior to concepting, on feasibility of ideas based on budget and vendor capabilities.

  • Own design and production partner selection.

  • Lead all prototype review meetings.

  • Own the documenting and recording of all prototype sets.

  • Partner with store design and visual merchandising teams to understand experience requirements (fixtures, fixture blocking, fixture merchandising).

  • Lead hand-off with print production partner after prototypes have been approved, ensuring that all required specifications are included.

  • Estimate custom elements

  • Responsible for value engineering to deliver cost efficiencies.

  • Provide final specifications and costs to print production partner as part of hand off.

  • Store team member training content

  • Work directly with production partners to create, refine, and approve step by step element assembly document/instruction/video to ensure flawless in-store execution.

  • Research and development

  • Seeks to intimately understand innovation in retail, the print industry and within the digital space.

  • Continuous efforts to assess, evaluate, and trial new advanced materials, sustainability measures, new production partner capabilities, digital capabilities, and knowledge of retail experience trends.

  • Influences multiple cross enterprise relationships to adopt new possibilities for innovation spaces.

  • Production partner development

  • Represents RBX with external print vendors and builds relationships with said vendors to bring innovative thinking to the forefront.

  • Seeks new vendors to deliver material, digital and experiential design capabilities forward.

  • Research new and diverse vendors, onboard and test to ensure vendors are set up for success, informing new strategies and latest capabilities for future projects.
