Target Senior Performance Manager, Responsible Sourcing - North America in Minneapolis, Minnesota

The pay range is $89,700.00 - $161,500.00

In Sourcing, you’ll apply your supply chain expertise to promote and apply responsible sourcing practices while driving the success and growth of Target’s owned brands. The Sourcing team starts at the very earliest stages of product development, builds out the costing models and tracks where product stands at every step in the production cycle, from overseas shipping to our import warehouses, distribution centers and stores. And since Target is indeed a global company, you’ll be part of the team that manages global relationships in partnership with the buying team who shop for trends all over the world. Your ability to stay aware of our suppliers’ activities will help ensure compliance with responsible practices, and you’ll have influence over which manufacturers Target chooses to work with. You’ll be a close point-of-contact with Target team members in sourcing offices located in 20 countries around the globe, and you’ll support their work as liaisons among buyers, product developers and overseas partners.

As a Sr Performance Manager , you will be part of the team that is evolving the responsible sourcing oversight function that allows us to be a progressive force for good.

  • You will be responsible for deepening engagement with the cross functional business teams and business partners primarily in the Food & Beverage and Essentials & Beauty categories in North America.

  • You will define and implement oversight and elevation programs for responsible sourcing to improve manufacturing supply chain performance, transparency and accountability.

  • You will collaborate with internal sourcing and business integration teams to support business growth through onboarding new vendors and factories.

  • You will utilize your expertise in the region to understand or develop country risk profiles and engage in strategic business partner discussions.

  • You will review audit results and distill learnings into insights and recommendations for business partners and sourcing teams, elevating all major non-compliance issues.

  • You will work closely with business partners to understand their programs, monitor audit results and help them improve over time.

  • Engage with external implementation partners representing Target and being a catalyst for change

  • You will collaborate closely with business partners and factories to deliver on responsible sourcing remediation and capability building goals.

  • You will manage the implementation of Target’s animal welfare policies with our owned brand business partners.

  • Own local partnerships with stakeholders and implementation partners in the field

  • You will work with teams to evaluate factory capability management systems and practices, visit factories and setting clear improvement objectives and flexible approaches to achieve desired outcomes

  • You will act as a mentor to the junior level RS managers and support a culture of equity and inclusion.

  • Manage other activities as appropriate and may be determined from time to time

About You

  • 5+ years of experience

  • Expert knowledge of global labor, health & safety regulations, social compliance and/or environmental regulations/issues

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into simple, clear communications and scenario building.

  • Strong strategic and conceptual thinking with the ability to plan, organize and execute.

  • Understanding of macro environment trends and curiosity of the global landscape

  • Ability to analyze information to drive business decisions, manage project plans and resources.

  • Strong leadership, performance and change management skills

  • Respects, appreciates and is curious about differences related to working with others; committed to fostering an inclusive team

  • Ability to work in a global environment

DESIRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Responsible Sourcing and/or policy/advocacy experience, especially in the food and beverage sector, a plus

  • Master’s degree

  • Experience working with global teams/business partners

  • Proven leadership ability, including team management and development

  • Fluent in English and Spanish

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
